Kindred Learning Adventures, or KLA, is a community-centered homeschool space that helps families learn beyond the dining room table. We create hands-on learning experiences through field trips, community partnerships, project-based programs, co-op opportunities, and real-world adventures. At KLA, learners are invited to explore, create, collaborate, and connect in meaningful ways while families build community along the way.

KLA is not a traditional school. We are a homeschool community and learning network designed to support home-educating families through enrichment, community-based learning, and shared educational experiences. Families remain responsible for their child’s homeschool compliance, curriculum choices, and core academic instruction.

KLA is for homeschooling families who want connection, hands-on learning, and enriching educational experiences rooted in community. We are a carefully curated space that unapologetically centers Black homeschooling families and the beauty, brilliance, and belonging our children deserve. We value safe, intentional gathering, high-quality learning experiences, cultural consciousness, and community care. Our programming is designed for families who value creativity, collaboration, real-world learning, and flexible approaches to education. KLA is for families ready to build community, share meaningful experiences, and embrace learning that moves beyond the table.

Yes. KLA offers secular educational programming and welcomes families from a variety of backgrounds, beliefs, and lived experiences.

KLA is rooted in community schooling. That means we believe learning can happen in museums, gardens, theaters, farms, parks, local businesses, science centers, community spaces, and anywhere curiosity meets real-world connection. We are not trying to recreate school at home. We are creating meaningful learning experiences that help children engage with the world around them.

Yes. All participating families pay the annual family commitment fee of $175 per family.
